Automotive connectors are specifically designed for use in automobile electrical systems. The main function of it is to control the connection and disconnection of all circuits on the vehicle based on connect with automotive wiring harness. The connectors Jingkai selling can be classified into waterproof connectors and unsealed connectors by sealing requirements. Also can be classified into wire to wire connectors and wire to board connectors by using requirements.
1. Waterproof connectors. This connector type is usually designed with retainer, TPA and CPA. Usually used with rubber seal which can be crimped with terminal as well.
2. Unsealed connectors. Almost parts are designed without CPA and TPA, only housing, no need automotive connector seal ,but can have sealing plug which is used for empty holes to prevent the dust enters.
3. Wire to wire connectors. It means both two connectors are connected by terminated wires. In most cases, the number of holes for this connector type will be less than 18 holes.
4. Wire to board connectors. They are used for connecting different automotive connectors to the circuit board of the computer. Female connectors can be assembled in automotive wire harness. Male connectors will be welding in PCB board.
Designing Requirements of connectors:
1. Enough space for pins. The pins on the connector must not be damaged which requires the connector to have a long enough guide mechanism to ensure.
2. The voltage and current of the connector connection circuit are stable and correct.
3. Using environment. 1. Better robustness. By consider that vehicles are required to withstand extreme weather conditions; 2. Temperature resistance -40~120℃. By consider there is high temp in vehicle engine space .The automotive connectors must work reliably in harsh conditions.
4. Drawing force and retention force of connectors.
